Delete your DiffWeb account

You can delete your account at any time, in the app or right here on this page. Temporary rooms don't need an account, so there is nothing to delete for them: they end on their own.

Delete in the app

1. Open DiffWeb and sign in.
2. Open Settings: tap your avatar at the top of My rooms.
3. Scroll to Delete account, enter your password, type DELETE and confirm.

Delete on this page

No app needed. Enter your username and your password or your recovery code.

What is deleted

• Right away: your account, username, password, recovery code, security code, avatar, bio, email notification address, sessions, blocks and Anonymous Chat settings.
• You leave every Saved Room, circle and chat. Rooms you own are handed to the next member.
• Chats that nobody is left in are closed and their messages, photos and files are permanently deleted after 15 days (kept that long only for safety reports and legal requests).

What may stay

• Messages and posts you already sent stay visible to the people still in those chats and circles, without a link to your account, until they delete the chat or circle.
• Content under an open safety report or a legal hold is kept until the report is resolved or the hold ends.
• Accounts that are not used for 3 months are deleted automatically.
