Anonymous Inbox

No email needed. If you forget your password, your recovery code gets you back in.

The page people see when they open an Anonymous Inbox link: a question card and a box to write an anonymous message
Your link

Put it in your bio. Let them talk.

Your link looks like diffweb.com/m/yourname. Anyone who opens it sees your question and can write to you, with no account and no name. Change the question any time, like “Ask me anything” or “Be honest: what do you think of me?”

Your inbox

Only you can read it. Not even us.

The sender’s phone locks each message with your device’s key before it leaves, so our servers only ever store scrambled text. Mean messages move to a Hidden tab on your device, and harmful ones can’t be sent at all.

Reply on your story

Answer your favourites in one tap.

Tap Reply on story and DiffWeb makes a ready-to-post picture of the question and the message. Post it, add a link sticker with your link, and the next messages start coming in.

Built to be kind

Anonymous, but not a free-for-all.

No fake messages

Some apps send made-up messages to get you to come back. Every message here was written by a real person who used your link.

No “reveal the sender”

We will never sell hints about who sent a message. Anonymous means anonymous, for you and for them.

Mean messages hidden

Insults go to a Hidden tab. Messages that encourage self-harm or threaten someone are stopped before they are sent.

Block and report

Block a sender in one tap. Reports send us a verified copy of the message, so our safety team can act on facts.

Anonymous Inbox questions

What is an Anonymous Inbox?

A private link, like diffweb.com/m/yourname, that you put in your bio or story. Anyone who opens it can send you a message without showing who they are.

Can I find out who sent a message?

No. Senders stay anonymous to you, and we will never sell a "reveal the sender" feature. The only time sender details are used is when a message is reported for abuse or the law requires it.

Can DiffWeb read my messages?

No. The sender's browser encrypts each message for your devices before it is sent, so only you can read it. Reports are the exception: when you report a message, you choose to send us a verified copy.

What happens to mean or harmful messages?

Messages that look mean are moved to a Hidden tab on your device, where you can still open them if you want. Messages that encourage self-harm or threaten someone can't be sent at all.

Can I stop someone from messaging me?

Yes. Block a sender in one tap and their messages are deleted. You can also pause your inbox or turn it off at any time.

Do you send fake messages to get me to come back?

Never. Every message in your inbox was written and sent by a real person who used your link.

Who can have an Anonymous Inbox?

Anyone aged 18 or over with a free DiffWeb account. You only need a username and a password, no phone number or email.
